Configuring the Network Panel for Dial Up Access

Plug in the
phone cord to your iBook.
-
Under the
blue Apple, choose Location and select Home Modem.
-
Run the
application Henrico PPP located in the Macintosh HD ->
Applications folder.

Enter your
dial up username (Ex.
johndoe@henricoschools.org) and click Set.

Click OK
when you get to the next screen.

Enter your
password in the Password field.

Click on the
drop down field by Telephone Numbers and click edit.
-
Click the +
sign in the bottom left hand corner of the screen and enter
915-0055. Click OK.
-
Click
Connect to connect to the Internet.
-
After you
have completed your original set up, you will not need to go
through this process again. Just go to the blue Apple, and
select Home-Modem. Then go up to the modem toolbar and click
on the telephone to connect.
-
After your
computer dials you will then be able to surf with Internet
Explorer or Safari.
